Blood Junkies

Blood Junkies is a novel length project I’ve been working on for a couple of years now. (Edit: I’m turning it into a series now, to be published in ebook form hopefully later this year or the beginning of 2012.) It’s my personal contribution to the Vampire world. Think of it as me trying to bring bloody back. For years, readers have been force-fed stories and novels about the love life of Vampires. Rubbish. The only thing they love is our blood.

The story is set in this world. A world where everyone has been so bombarded with Vampires for the last decade that their existence is nullified. Which is good for the real Vampires. Enter Willy Fisher, drug-runner and wanna-be Vampire. After he finds out to become a Vampire, he fulfills his dream. Yet, being a Vampire isn’t exactly what he dreamed about, and his dreams turn to nightmares when he realizes that becoming a Vampire is truly a curse, and there’s no turning back.

The reader can expect references to popular Vampire movies, yet I’ve taken several liberties with the traditions and folklore to suit my characters. My concept will hopefully explain a little about how someone who is dead can become the undead.

I hope to have this novel complete one day. The story has changed so much between the first and second drafts, and there’s still much work to do. The kind folks in my online reading/reviewing group have said nice things about Part One. I just hope I can keep the momentum going.
